ANNOUNCEMENTS

First UCC Visioning Process

Over the past six months, First UCC conducted a visioning process guided by four members, Pastor Cindy Maddox, and UCC consultant Sarah Lehman. The initiative fostered community engagement through a diverse range of activities including an Ecocycle Planning session with Church Council and leadership, an arts-based dreaming session, a congregational survey, and seven small group listening circle discussions.

Pastor Cindy's Sabbatical Plan

Our Senior Minister, Rev. Cindy Maddox, is on sabbatical this summer. We pray for her time away and will welcome her back in September.

When a pastor leaves on sabbatical, people often have questions: How long will she be gone? Who is doing her job while she’s away? Why is she not allowed to have contact? What if I see her in the grocery store? What if I have an emergency? Is she definitely coming back?

Peace & Justice for Palestine & Israel

The Why We Record exhibit at First UCC has several components:

  • Now until June 15: The Why We Record exhibit itself,
  • June 11: The Out of the Ruins: Love in a Time of War presentation, and
  • June 14: The One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This book study
