First UCC partners with several local organizations, providing monetary and material support for their work to serve those in need. Read more below about the organizations we support and how you can get involved.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a program that brings meals to elders and other home-bound individuals. First UCC takes responsibility for filling four weeks of Meals on Wheels food delivery each year–one week in January, two weeks in March, and one week in May.
We are looking ahead to fill spots for drivers from March 6 – March 18. If you are interested sign-up using this link or look for updates in the Chronicle and bulletin.
Community Action Center
The Community Action Center meets the needs of those in our community who are seeking help from everything to housing to food access. In addition to providing monetary gifts and support for the CAC’s new affordable housing project, Hillcrest Village, First UCC collects food for the CAC’s food shelf. Members of First UCC also frequently volunteer at the CAC. Sign up to volunteer here.
Ruth’s House
Ruth’s House provides transitional and permanent housing for women and children in crisis. First UCC gathers donations for Ruth’s House. Check out their current needs list, or sign up to volunteer.
