Sad news…

The following was posted by Sandy last evening on the Caring Bridge Site she has set up for her mother:

Friends, I bring the sad news that my mother passed away tonight about 7:40.  She had been moved from the hospital to the nursing home that is on the same campus as her apartment, with hospice care.

It was a very difficut afternoon, but by about 6 pm she was calm and resting.  I am grateful for the efforts of the hospice team and the nursing home staff in making her last hours peaceful.

I have not made any decisions about a service of thanksgiving for her life; that will wait for tomorrow morning.

Jean is here, and I am deeply grateful for her help and companionship.  Just as I am grateful for all of your love and prayers.
