Each Sunday one of our members begins our worship service by welcoming everyone. Below is this week’s welcome.
Good Morning! Whatever has brought you to this place at this time, we welcome you, and hope that this hour we spend together in worship and prayer will refresh you and renew you for the week ahead. We are happy that you have joined us this morning. My name is Lynne Severson and my husband John and I have been attending First UCC for about 4 years.
I was reading about the early church and how non-believers remarked, “Look at those Christians. How they love one another”. I see that same spirit of care and concern for others in this congregation. One of the things I really like about First UCC is that the love and support isn’t limited to the membership of this church but reaches out into the Northfield community in so many different ways. Supporting causes for peace and justice, First UCC also reaches around the world to help others.
It is important to me to be part of this congregation that takes very seriously Jesus’ teaching to “love your neighbor as yourself”.
