A concert of Norwegian Folk Music featuring Vidar Skrede, Hardanger Fiddler and Guitarist from Haugesund, Norway will be presented on Saturday, August 25 at 7pm at First United Church of Christ. Andrea Een, Hardanger fiddle and Eric Segnitz, Hardanger fiddle and guitar will perform duos and trios of new tunes by Vidar Skrede and Andrea Een as well as some traditional music.
Vidar is a member of the famous folk band, Geitungen from Rogaland, the southwest corner of Norway. He is a well=known composer of tunes and arranger for folk groups in Scandinavia. Eric is a violinist with the Milwaukee Symphony in addition to his composing and arranging for many folk and contemporary groups.
Andrea just retired from teaching Hardanger fiddle at St. Olaf College which has the only program for that nine-stringed folk fiddle outside of Norway.
Donation $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. This is a fun, family-friendly concert about an hour and 15 minutes long!
