Our Fighting Apostles leave nothing to chance. Nursing a semi-comfortable 13-4 lead going into the seventh inning, we hung another 13 runs on Little Prairie to cruise to a 26-9 victory. All but two of our players scored that inning. Henry Biemer, playing his first game as an Apostle, and Matt Easvold each scored twice.
The highlights were many. Pastor Todd scored four times; Doug Morris and Lon Kruse each scored three times. Issac Burton and Jakob Anderson each tripled in the five-inning sixth, the same inning Dave Burton (Burton 1.0) flexed his muscles with a drive to the left-centerfield fence.
Brad Hoff scooped a hard-hit ball at first to tame a budding Little Prairie rally in the seventh. Tim Newman went the distance on the mound.
We have two games remaining. Sunday we will host Trondhjem at Sechler Two. Game time is 7:10 p.m. The following week, we will close out the season with a late game (7:10 p.m.) with St. Peter’s at Babcock.
