A service of inspiration and renewal for caregivers will be held at 7 pm on April 17th at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1321 North Avenue. This service, called “Restore, Replenish, Renew,” is designed for anyone who is providing care to persons in need. This includes family caregivers, clergy, therapists, physicians, nurses, other healthcare workers and volunteers.
The service will include a litany for healing, readings, hymn singing, anointing of hands, and a caregiver’s psalm. Piano music and accompaniment will be provided by Rhonda Reece. Jenny Pelletier, a music therapist at Laura Baker Services Association, will lead a music meditation. A breath prayer written by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Buddhist monk, will be shared by Marian McKone. And Alan Rubenstein will present, in both English and Hebrew, a Prayer for Complete Healing.
Following the service there will be refreshments and a time for fellowship. Hand or back massage, Healing Touch and Qigong will be offered free of charge by local practitioners.
