Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that allows people to raise money for nonprofit organizations, which in our case is First UCC. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards.
You purchase gift cards from First UCC at face value, which are ordered from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. You get the FULL VALUE OF THE CARD. The difference is an instant rebate for First UCC. It’s really that simple!
When you use scrip gift cards at your favorite retailers, you’re fundraising while you shop. Great Lakes Scrip Center offers over 300 of the country’s biggest brands, including grocery, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, and more.
Just by using scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you can easily raise $500 or more per year. It’s time to put your shopping dollars to work!
Here’s an example of how much you could earn for First UCC by just buying groceries through Scrip:

How does it help First UCC?
Funds contribute to the general operating expenses of the church. Since July 2007, Scrip has raised approximately $37,626 for First UCC.
How does Scrip help me?
Buying Scrip and supporting First UCC gives you a warm fuzzy feeling (really!) but in addition to that you can deduct the amount of your Scrip purchase that is donated to the church on your yearly income taxes. Your Scrip coordinator can give you the statement in January.
How do I buy Scrip?
You can purchase Scrip cards online at ShopWithScrip.com after you have registered and created an account. Instructions to do this are listed below or you can sign up on Sunday morning when we have the laptop computer out during Scrip sale time.
